Softball Recap: Monacan Comes Up Short

After flying high against James River Midlothian on Tuesday, Monacan came back down to earth. The Chiefs came up short against the Cosby Titans on Thursday, falling 9-1. The Chiefs haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Monacan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Gee, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Monacan's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Cosby, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

When Monacan and Cosby next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Chiefs will square off against Midlothian and their 14-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cosby will try to stop King William's three-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 2.6, the Cavaliers 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
