Soccer Recap: Lakeview Academy Comes Up Short

Lakeview Academy and Athens Christian pushed the score to 7-1 the last time they played Athens Christian, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Lions fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lakeview Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Athens Christian are ranked 319th).

Lakeview Academy dropped their record down to 9-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Athens Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview Academy will head out to face off against Loganville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Athens Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge George Walton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. George Walton Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Athens Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
