Recap: Midway Vikings vs. Lone Jack Mules
The Midway Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-33 walloping at the hands of Lone Jack. Midway has struggled against Lone Jack recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Lone Jack's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Mantzey, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Tyler Carpenter was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Midway's defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lone Jack, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Midway will head out on the road to challenge Leeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lone Jack, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Concordia at 8:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Lone Jack focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
