Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Kenai Central walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Sitka Wolves with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Kardinals in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

While Kenai Central might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Sitka scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Sophie Tapley paced Kenai Central's offense, picking up 11 kills. Tapley got some help from Gracee Every and her 21 assists. Every was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Kenai Central's win bumped their record up to 37-16-5. As for Sitka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-22-9 record this season.

Kenai Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Valdez on the 13th. As for Sitka, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Nome-Beltz on the 14th.
