Basketball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington Takes a Loss

Gardner-South Wilmington lost against Hoopeston back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers had to suffer through a 74-25 loss at the hands of the Hoopeston Cornjerkers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hoopeston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaedyn Goodrum, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 17 points. Brylie Cox was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Gardner-South Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Hoopeston, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Gardner-South Wilmington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-23 win against Judah Christian on the 16th. As for Hoopeston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-42 loss against Peotone on the 14th.
