Recap: Homefires Flames vs. Illinois Central Christian Lions
On Thursday, Homefires sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Illinois Central Christian.
Among those leading the charge was Colin Chesnut, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Homefires' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Rademacher, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Homefires now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Illinois Central Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Homefires will be playing at home against Tippecanoe HomeSchool on Friday. Tippecanoe HomeSchool is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Illinois Central Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Westfair Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Westfair Christian will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
