Homestead barely beat Milpitas the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Trojans 18-7 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on six straight.

Mackenzie Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Gwyn Romero was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Cierra Hagan was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Homestead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milpitas only posted an OBP of .389.

Homestead pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Milpitas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Homestead nor Milpitas have any future games scheduled.
