Softball Recap: Rhinelander Comes Up Short

Rhinelander fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tomahawk on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Hatchets. The defeat continues a trend for the Hodags in their meetings with the Hatchets: they've now lost four in a row.

Rhinelander's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Tomahawk, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Looking ahead, Rhinelander will venture away from home to challenge Mosinee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hodags' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tomahawk, they have already played their next game, a 12-1 defeat against Medford on the 13th.
