Who's up and who's down

In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Knoxville Central's 23 - 12 win over David Crockett last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Dakota Fawver. Fawver tossed the ball for 160 yards and three TDs. That performance made Fawver one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

This Week's Big Showdown

The confrontation between Memphis University (1st in the power rankings) and McCallie (8th) did not disappoint. Memphis University had just enough, edging out McCallie 10 - 7. Memphis University was the clear favorite in this matchup, so the near-loss was an unusual surpise.

No Stoppin 'Em

Oak Ridge and Knoxville Catholic went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (82) among all power ranked teams. It was a close one, but Knoxville Catholic sidestepped Oak Ridge for the 42 - 40 win. Knoxville Catholic saw its record improve to 9-3 and its power rank jump six places as a result.
