Midland Trail picks up sixth straight win at home

Recap: Midland Trail Patriots vs. Hoover Huskies

The Midland Trail Patriots came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Hoover 43-40. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Midland Trail has scored all season.

Midland Trail had a senior duo take command as Eli Campbell scored 18 points along with three steals and Justin Cooper scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Campbell hasn't dropped below 16 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Thad Brown, who scored six points along with six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Hoover lost, one person who can't be blamed is Donovan Brown. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with two steals. Wesley Miller was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds.

Midland Trail pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Midland Trail and Summers County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
