Baseball Recap: Cody Triumphs

Cody won the last time they faced Ford and things went their way on Friday too. The Comets walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Tyrone Coats was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Cody is undefeated when Coats posts two or more runs, but 2-7-2 otherwise. Tyler Sims also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cody's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-7-2. As for Ford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cody will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Communication Media Arts at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Ford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harper Woods at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.64 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
