Baseball Recap: Desert Christian Comes Up Short

Desert Christian had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 4-6-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Golden Valley Grizzlies, falling 6-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since May 7, 2025.

Desert Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Hayen, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

As for Golden Valley, the win got them back to even at 8-8. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th (when they won 10-0).

On Golden Valley's side, the team relied heavily on Shaya Charmatz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Ayden Renstrom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Desert Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Faith Baptist on the 7th. As for Golden Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Carpinteria on the 9th.
