Preview: North Boone Vikings vs. Lutheran Crusaders

North Boone has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Lutheran Crusaders at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. North Boone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Lutheran is ranked 120th).

North Boone scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against South Beloit by a score of 43-32. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory North Boone has managed all season.

North Boone can attribute much of their success to Mattison Mccartney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Mccartney set a new season high mark in steals with six. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Alderman, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Lutheran has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season. They took their match on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 67-23 win over Christian Life. 67 seems to be a good number for Lutheran as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

North Boone's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Lutheran, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

North Boone was taken down by Lutheran 76-33 when the teams last played back in February. Can North Boone avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
