Basketball Recap: Dekalb Comes Up Short on the Road Against Moline

DeKalb had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Moline Maroons 72-34 on Friday. The Barbs lost against the Maroons in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-46 score last time.

Moline was led to victory by Adalynn Voss and Camilla Velasquez. Voss posted 19 points, while Velasquez put up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Aniya M Dixon, who scored ten points.

The win (which was Moline's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, DeKalb and Central will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Moline, they and St. Charles North will face off at 2:29 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
