Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Darion Taylor and Kd Taylor Lead Humboldt to Victory

Humboldt had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-32 W against the Lakeland Preparatory Lions.

A big part of Humboldt's win came down to the chemistry between Darion Taylor and his top target Kd Taylor. Darion picked up 253 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Kd threw for 436 yards and five TDs while completing 77.4% of his passes. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Darion a new career-high. Tyland Richmond did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 40 receiving yards.

The victory got Humboldt back to even at 5-5. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Humboldt will take on Middle College at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they will face off against Dyer County at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
