In what's become a running theme this season, the South Texas Christian Academy Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past Juan Diego Academy 69-13 on the road. With South Texas Christian Academy ahead 31-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Carlos Saenz was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 13 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South Texas Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Armenta, who scored nine points along with 12 steals and seven rebounds.
South Texas Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Juan Diego Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Texas Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Presbyterian Pan American at 4:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Juan Diego Academy, they will face off against Macedonian Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
