Softball Recap: Northwest Rankin Cougars vs. Oak Grove Warriors

Northwest Rankin put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat the Oak Grove Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-1. Considering Northwest Rankin has won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jolie Hays made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Hays has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hays was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Jaliya Sullivan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooke Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
