Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary). They managed a 65-59 victory over the Saguaro Sabercats on Friday. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 66-54 win the Sabercats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

St. Mary's had a senior duo take command as Sophia Bryant posted 18 points and Gwen Carter had 16 points. The game was Carter's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Sierras, who put up eight points.

St. Mary's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Saguaro, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will welcome Marcos de Niza at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's is facing Marcos de Niza at the right time seeing as Marcos de Niza is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Saguaro, they will be playing at home against Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesquite will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Saguaro surely won't give up without a fight.
