Football Recap: Sangre de Cristo Takes a Loss

Sangre de Cristo lost against Hoehne back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Thunderbirds fell 44-36 to the Farmers. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brody Silvey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hoehne, rushing for 250 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Silvey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles and defending two passes. Antonio Cantoria also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.

Sangre de Cristo's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Hoehne, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sangre de Cristo will take on rival Crowley County at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. Meanwhile, Hoehne is set to square off against their familiar foe Fowler at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
