Basketball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Mexia Black Cats

Buffalo is 0-7 against Mexia since December of 2014 but things could change on Friday. The Buffalo Bison will host the Mexia Black Cats at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Buffalo was able to grind out a solid win over Groesbeck, taking the game 47-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bison.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mexia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Teague with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-29.

Mexia's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points per game. As for Buffalo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Buffalo lost to Mexia at home by a decisive 48-29 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Buffalo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
