Soccer Game Preview: Westmoreland vs. King & Queen Central

The Westmoreland Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. King & Queen Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Westmoreland, who comes in off a win.

Westmoreland will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Northumberland on Wednesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Indians by a score of 5-3.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for King & Queen Central's offense. They lost 8-0 to West Point on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for King & Queen Central in their meetings with West Point: they've now lost seven in a row.

Westmoreland's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for King & Queen Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Westmoreland took their win against King & Queen Central when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
