Basketball Recap: Camp Verde Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Camp Verde can now relate to. They lost to the Phoenix Country Day Eagles on the road by a 65-47 margin on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-47 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Camp Verde still got an impressive performance from Jordan McMahon-Fullmer, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The match was McMahon-Fullmer's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Julian Perez was another key player, going 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points and seven boards.

Camp Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Phoenix Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.
