Softball Recap: Heartland Christian Comes Up Short

If Heartland Christian was feeling good fresh off their 28-11 takedown of Leetonia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions lost 21-1 to the United Golden Eagles on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 back in April.

Heartland Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Barrow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Sarah Reynolds also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Heartland Christian's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for United, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Heartland Christian will venture away from home to challenge Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for United, they will challenge Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
