Fremont posted their biggest win since February 23, 2024 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Columbus Discoverers 70-40. The Tigers have beaten the Discoverers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Discoverers has come to flipping the script.

Kieryn Grothe was a one-man wrecking crew for Fremont as he went 8-for-16 on his way to 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Grothe a new career-high in blocks (two). Aiden Vacha was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Fremont was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Several Discoverers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxson Vasicek, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. Vasicek has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Nelson, who scored eight points.

Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Columbus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Fremont has already played their next game, a 71-61 defeat against Lincoln Northeast on the 15th. As for Columbus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 85-58 loss against Lincoln East on the 15th.
