Softball Recap: Compton Early College Takes a Loss

Compton Early College extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 11-5 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Lennox Academy Panthers. The match marked the Rising Phoenix's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Lennox Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Considering they have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lennox Academy's part, Michel Estrada was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Dana Olvera also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Compton Early College will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Animo Leadership at 2:00 p.m. on May 1. As for Lennox Academy, they will host Marymount at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
