The Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Andover Central Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on November 25th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Saint Thomas Aquinas had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chieftains 42-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Saint Thomas Aquinas, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Gianni Rizzi and Cole Richardson were among the main playmakers for Saint Thomas Aquinas as the former rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries and the latter rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Richardson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Aiden Skinner was another key contributor, throwing for 34 yards and a touchdown.
Wamego typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Andover Central proved too difficult a challenge. Andover Central strolled past Wamego with points to spare, taking the game 26-7. Winning may never get old, but Andover Central sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Andover Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Kitterman led the charge by picking up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown. Maddox Archibald was in the mix as well, providing Andover Central with two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Saint Thomas Aquinas to 9-3 and Tonganoxie to 9-3.
