Softball Recap: Clements Comes Up Short

Clements was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the Rogers Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Clements saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zailey Moran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Clements' loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Rogers, they moved to 10-14 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Coming up, Clements will take on Colbert County at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Rogers, they will be playing at home against Hatton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates have lost three straight at home and the Hornets three straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
