Baseball Recap: Gunnison Cowboys vs. Aspen Skiers
Gunnison had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it four. They came up short against the Aspen Skiers, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Skiers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Saturday.
Gunnison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Aspen, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games.
On Aspen's side, Carter Kuhlman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Kuhlman has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Mika, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
