Basketball Recap: Vertus Takes a Loss

Vertus came into this matchup off a tough 31-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the School of the Arts Silverhawks by a score of 65-63 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (60), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Vertus and nudges their season record down to 8-9. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for School of the Arts, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Looking ahead, Vertus won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for School of the Arts, they will square off against Greece Arcadia at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
