Softball Recap: Lunenburg Blue Knights vs. Clinton Gaels
Lunenburg lost against Clinton back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Knights came up short against the Gaels, falling 7-1. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Knights have lost by exactly six runs.
Lunenburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Harrington, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Julia Grebinar, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Lunenburg's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Lunenburg will head out on the road to square off against West Boylston at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Blue Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Clinton, they will be playing at home against Tahanto Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
