Recap: Avenal Buccaneers vs. Yosemite Badgers
On Thursday, Avenal rang in the new year with a 46-37 victory over Yosemite.
Yosemite's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Scott Phillips, who scored nine points along with three steals. Thomas Huynh was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Avenal is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Yosemite, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
