Soccer Recap: Minerva Takes a Loss

Minerva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Morgan Raiders, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, Minerva can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 516th, while Morgan are ranked 228th).

Minerva's goal came courtesy of Noah Morckel, who's now up to 12 this season.

Minerva's loss dropped their record down to 2-13-3. As for Morgan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Minerva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morgan, they will host Beaver Local at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan's defense better be ready for this one: Beaver Local have averaged an impressive 3.4 goals per game this season.
