Basketball Game Preview: Excel Christian Academy Eagles vs. Coahulla Creek Colts

The Excel Christian Academy Eagles will head out to take on the Coahulla Creek Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Excel Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 227 points over their last three matchups.

While Excel Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by Oakwood Christian to the tune of 79-50 on Friday. Excel Christian Academy pushed the score to 66-35 by the end of the third, a deficit Oakwood Christian cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Excel Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaiyu Huffman, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The game was Huffman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jinks, who went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Coahulla Creek earned a 58-51 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Excel Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Coahulla Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
