The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) unanimously voted to suspend the basketball and AA boys and girls swimming and diving championships for at least a two-week period due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The PIAA Board of Directors decided Thursday morning that all events will be on hold. During this time schools will perform self-assessments around the safety of playing moving forward.

Modifications to the tournaments will include limiting team and spectator parties, health recertification by authorized medical professionals and changes to game-day procedures. Additional direction to competing schools will be provided over the coming days in consultation with school administrators, local, state health and governmental authorities, the association said in a press release.

We will have more updates as they become available.
