Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Prep Patriots vs. Kirk Academy Raiders

The Jackson Prep Patriots and the Kirk Academy Raiders will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Jackson Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Kirk Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Jackson Prep beat Lanier 40-31. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kirk Academy entered their contest against Independence on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Kirk Academy took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Independence.

Kirk Academy's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7. As for Jackson Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Jackson Prep strolled past Kirk Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 54-37. Will Jackson Prep repeat their success, or does Kirk Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
