Volleyball Recap: Micki Millsaps Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Falls Church

There's no place like home for Lake Braddock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Falls Church Jaguars on Thursday. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lake Braddock had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-8, 25-6, 25-13.

Lake Braddock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micki Millsaps, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Millsaps a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yana Jensen, who had 12 digs and four assists.

Lake Braddock now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Falls Church, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Braddock will head out to challenge West Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Falls Church, they will venture away from home to take on Hayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
