Softball Recap: Mason County Central Gets the Win

The Mason County Central Spartans made easy work of the Bear Lake Lakers on Friday and carried off a 15-8 win.

Aubrey Chye was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Chye was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ellen Haner was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madi Sherretz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mason County Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bear Lake: the pair will be back at it again later today.
