The Moody Blue Devils will take on the Corner Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Corner will be up against a hot Moody team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Blue Devils breezed past Lincoln to the tune of 48-6 last Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 204th).
Moody's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin James led the charge by rushing for 47 yards and a pair of TDs. Jake Lowery was another key passer, throwing for 132 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Moody proved: they limited Lincoln to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Jagger Ludolf for the heroic effort on defense: he. Moody didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.1.

Moody didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Owen Randall picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last five times he's played. Henry Smith was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, Corner blew past Springville, posting a 48-14 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Corner's win came from a few key players Moody will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Spencer Unruh, who rushed for 266 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 14.0 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keaton Coffee, who threw for 169 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Moody's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Corner, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Moody has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Corner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Moody against Corner in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 41-13 win. In that matchup, the Blue Devils amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
