Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. Pike Central Chargers

The Mitchell Bluejackets will be taking part in a tournament against the Pike Central Chargers at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Saturday, Mitchell came up short against Brownstown Central and fell 67-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (59), the Bluejackets still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Eastern Greene, falling 51-28.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mitchell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Mitchell, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 80-63 loss to Pike Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2016.
