Preview: Crossroad Academy Scorpions vs. Munroe Bobcats
After two games on the road, Crossroad Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Munroe Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Crossroad Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 70-35 defeat at the hands of Marianna. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crossroad Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Crossroad Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jabari Boahen dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Boahen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Myron Tennell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Munroe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 68-60 victory over Madison County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Munroe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leith Kenon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kenon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlton Knight, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Crossroad Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Munroe, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
