Baseball Recap: St. Edward's Gets the Win

St. Edward lost to Sebastian River back in March of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Pirates came out on top against the Sharks by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Caden Freedman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reid Morris was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

St. Edward's record now sits at 6-3. As for Sebastian River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7-1.

Coming up, St. Edward's will face off against Berean Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sebastian River, they will challenge Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.27 runs per game on average), something the Sharks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
