Soccer Game Preview: Fort Chiswell vs. Giles

Fort Chiswell is 0-3 against Giles since April of 2024 but things could change on Thursday. The Pioneers will be playing at home against the Spartans at 5:30 p.m.

Fort Chiswell came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against George Wythe, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Giles). They put the hurt on Bland County with a sharp 8-1 victory on Monday. The win was nothing new for Giles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Their offense was hitting Bland County from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Kerrigan Mitcham led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Giles pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. As for Fort Chiswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-3.
