Gresham won the last time they faced Lakeridge and things went their way on Monday too. The Gophers put the hurt on the Pacers with a sharp 16-5 victory. Considering the Gophers have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ayden Gardenhire and Despina Seufalemua made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Gardenhire tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Seufalemua tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gardenhire has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Gardenhire scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Seufalemua went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Gresham got a massive performance out of Alyssa Grover, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Grover has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of La Terra Foster-Frison, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-5.
Gresham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Gresham now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lakeridge, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
Coming up, Gresham will square off against Century at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Gophers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lakeridge, they will challenge Aloha at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
