Basketball Recap: Bonneville Falls Despite Big Games from Adisyn Stone and Baya Jimenez

Bonneville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 48-28 to the Northridge Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-51 back in January.

Bonneville's loss came despite strong showings from Baya Jimenez and Adisyn Stone. Jimenez posted 13 points, while Stone scored ten points and six rebounds. That was a full 46.4% of Bonneville's points, marking the third time in a row Jimenez has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Bonneville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Northridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Karlee Mayfield out in front who had 13 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabel Kap, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Bonneville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Northridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Bonneville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-41 loss against Viewmont on the 18th. As for Northridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-52 defeat against Olympus on the 18th.
