Baseball Game Preview: Fairland Dragons vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves

The Fairland Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairland has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 16.

On Wednesday, Fairland came up short against Ironton and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Blazer on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tomcats by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Timberwolves have lost by just one run.

Cam Perdue made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jack Shumaker, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Spring Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-11 record this season. As for Fairland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
