Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Yellowjackets vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors

Jefferson is 2-8 against Sergeant Bluff-Luton since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jefferson Yellowjackets will host the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jefferson is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 71-41 loss at the hands of Lincoln.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jimmy Cotton, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Demari Robinson, who earned 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Bluff-Luton was beaten by Dakota Valley 76-48 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Jefferson beat Sergeant Bluff-Luton 71-62 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Sergeant Bluff-Luton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
