Basketball Recap: Rural Vista [Hope/White City] Comes Up Short

Rural Vista [Hope/White City] and Onaga squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Rural Vista [Hope/White City] had to settle for second. They fell 56-43 to the Onaga Buffaloes. The Heat's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Rural Vista [Hope/White City] saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaimey Evans posted 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Noeth, who put up 11 points and five boards.

Onaga's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abbie Ringel led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ringel a new career-high in boards. Jadyn Haskin was another key player, en route to 17 points and three steals.

Rural Vista [Hope/White City]'s defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Onaga, their record is now 8-12.

Rural Vista [Hope/White City] does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Onaga, they will venture away from home to square off against Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centralia will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Onaga surely won't give up without a fight.
