Softball Recap: Marion's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Batesville on Tuesday, Marion came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 9-1 to the Bauxite Miners on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since March 29th.

Marion's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9. As for Bauxite, their victory bumped their record up to 17-13.

Coming up, Marion will take on Greene County Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Bauxite has already played their next matchup (against Fountain Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
