Basketball Game Preview: Page County Panthers vs. Clarke County Eagles

The Page County Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Clarke County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Page County took a blow against Central Woodstock, falling 62-30. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Clarke County entered their tilt with Stonewall Jackson on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Generals, posting an 84-21 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Generals are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clarke County has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Page County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Page County was taken down by Clarke County 83-23 in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can Page County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
