Basketball Recap: Valdosta Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blythewood, Valdosta was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They snuck past the Walker Wolverines with a 58-52 win.

Kaleb Johnson went supernova for Valdosta, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jabarri Williams, who posted nine points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Walker still got an impressive performance from King Daniel Hernandez, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. Hernandez's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Berry, who had five points along with six assists and six boards.

Valdosta's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Walker, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Valdosta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-47 loss against Richmond Hill on the 3rd. As for Walker, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 95-31 win against Cross Keys on the 3rd.
